Easy Peasy
- The beginnings of "X" can be traced to the mid-1800s in British India, where it was created by British military officers stationed there.
- "X" is related to a similar game played with a ball which originated in Tamil Nadu, and is similar to Hanetsuki which originated in Japan.
- Being particularly popular in the British garrison town Poona (now Pune), the game also came to be known as Poona.
- "X" was taken by retired officers back to England where it developed and rules were set out.
- While initiated in England, competitive men's X in Europe has traditionally been dominated by Denmark. Asian nations, however, have been the most dominant ones worldwide. China, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia along with Denmark are among the nations that have consistently produced world-class players in the past few decades, with China being the greatest force in both men's and women's competition in recent years.

- "X" in modern mythology was born a Spartan and held the military rank of General, before extracting his reprisal on the Olympians who had forsaked him and derives around the themes of power, vengeance, and deceit.
- One striking similarity between the ancient and modern "X" is strength. In Greek mythology X was a powerful being and a protector of Zeus, the modern depiction of "X" follows this by making "X" equally strong.
- While the Greek god "X" was an angelic being that was a protector of Zeus, the Modern "X" sees the gods as decietful and wishes to destroy them, especially Zeus. It is ironic that the angelic "X" defended Zeus and Olympus against Typhon, while in the Moderm "X" leads an attack on Olympus and Zeus along with the Titans.
- Another possible reference between the two "X"s is chains. In the story "Prometheus bound," Ancient "X" aids Hephaestus in chaining Prometheus to a mountain, The modern "X" weapons of choice is the Blades of Chaos, which are attached to the chains of Olympus and Ironically, it was the modern "X" who released Prometheus from his imprisonment

Mother of Quizzing
- On January 15, 2001, X's first day of independent existence, It's Founder used the American flag as a temporary (placeholder) logo for "X". It was not intended to be permanent.
- X's first true logo was an image that was originally submitted by Bjørn Smestad for the antecedent version's logo competition which took place in 2000.
- It's founder thought it would be a much better logo than the flag, and it remained for the next eight months, until the end of 2001.
- It continued to be used after this time on Special Pages, such as search results. The logo included a quote from Euclid and his Modern Rivals by Lewis Carroll; due to the fisheye effect, only part of the text can be read.
In one respect this book is an experiment, and may chance to prove a failure: I mean that I have not thought it necessary to maintain throughout the gravity of style which scientific writers usually affect, and which has somehow come to be regarded as an ‘inseparable accident’ of scientific teaching. I never could quite see the reasonableness of this immemorial law: subjects there are, no doubt, which are in their essence too serious to admit of any lightness of treatment – but I cannot recognize Geometry as one of them. Nevertheless it will, I trust, be found that I have permitted myself a glimpse of the comic side of things only at fitting seasons, when the tired reader might well crave a moment’s breathing-space, and not on any occasion where it could endanger the continuity of the line of argument.
- After some time it was replaced by a logo depicting a globe constructed of beveled puzzle pieces to symbolize the continuous construction and development of the project.
- Then it was merely modified into an image projected into a sphere, with a bump map applied to provide relief and simulate separate puzzle pieces.
